🔒 Summary: This extension runs 100% locally within your browser. We do NOT collect, store, transmit, monetize, or share any personal data, phone numbers, contacts, or chat logs. There are zero remote servers or telemetry trackers involved.

1. Introduction & Single Purpose Description

WhatsApp Past Member Extractor is designed with a single, transparent purpose: to allow WhatsApp Web users to view and export the list of past participants (who left or were removed in the last 60 days) from WhatsApp Web groups they have access to, into CSV, VCF (vCard), or JSON formats.

We strictly respect user privacy and adhere to the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, the User Data FAQ, and the Principle of Least Privilege.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect ZERO personal data. Specifically:

  • No Contact Details: Extracted phone numbers, member notes, and timestamps are never transmitted anywhere. They remain in transient browser memory until you download your file.
  • No Chat Content: The extension does not read messages, media files, or conversations.
  • No Analytics or Telemetry: We do not track user behavior, session times, or click events via Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any tracking SDK.
  • No Cookies: We do not set, read, or track browser cookies.
  • No Account Required: No login, authentication, or account registration is ever needed.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification

To function in Chrome, the extension requests the following minimal set of permissions:

  • activeTab: Used to read the DOM of the active WhatsApp Web browser tab only when you deliberately click on the extension icon.
  • scripting: Used to inject the parsing script that reads the visible "Past Members" drawer.
  • storage: Used strictly to save local UI preferences (such as your chosen default export format) in Chrome's local storage on your machine.
  • host_permissions ("https://web.whatsapp.com/*"): Limits the script execution strictly to WhatsApp Web. The extension cannot access or read any other website or domain you visit.

4. Data Storage and Security

All contact processing occurs strictly in your device's RAM memory during the active session. When you click Export CSV or Export VCF, the file is created via a local JavaScript data URI blob and downloaded directly to your local Downloads folder. No data is ever transmitted over the Internet.

5. Third-Party Services & Remote Code

In compliance with Chrome Web Store Manifest V3 guidelines, this extension does not load remote code, external scripts, or third-party tracking libraries. All scripts are bundled locally inside the extension package.

6. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Because we do not collect, process, or store any personal information on servers, we hold no user records. You have absolute ownership and control over the files exported onto your computer.
